About Us Whispering Winds Retreat Haven is:
A place to be still and be renewed by the Spirit...
A place to relax in the peace and quiet of the country.
Whispering Winds is a bed & breakfast, and it's a spiritual retreat center located in Cambridge, WI.
We have been blessed with a beautifully remodeled century-old farmhouse, surrounded by three acres of lawn and gardens. It is a wonderfully peaceful setting, and we want to share that peacefulness with others.
Who we are
"We" are Mim Jacobson (left) and Marian Korth (right), owners of Whispering Winds.
Marian is the Managing Director - the one who answers the phone and "runs the business" of the B&B and coordinates all the activities of the retreat center.
Mim helps Marian as needed, especially with doing laundry, making beds, and baking muffins and cookies. Mim's primary responsibility is to run our other business - Country Comforts Assisted Living. (See the LINKS page to learn more about that business.)
Other people are also involved in helping us define and carry out our vision for Whispering Winds.
Joan Gunderman has served as a Lutheran pastor for 30 years. She is now enjoying the ministries of Spiritual Direction and Retreat Leadership. Having been a frequent Whispering Winds guest herself, as well as developing and leading many retreats in congregations and church retreat centers for many years, Joan is working with us to expand our public and individual retreat ministry.
Ellen Kogstad is a spiritual director and is Adjunct Professor of Spiritual Formation at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago. Ellen helped us initially envision our farmhouse as a retreat center.
Ken Lund and Beth O'Brien are spiritual directors and retreat leaders in the Madison, WI area who have each led several retreats and provided individual spiritual direction at Whispering Winds.
