Whispering Winds Retreat Haven

A place to be still and be renewed by the Spirit...
A place to relax in the peace and quiet of the country.
Whispering Winds Retreat Haven is a large, remodeled farmhouse set in the middle of three acres of lawn and gardens.

OUTSIDE


The front porch is wheelchair accessible. The porch faces west, providing a perfect setting to sit  and watch the sun set over farm fields, while birds sing in the huge maples near the house, and chipmunks scamper over the front lawn.

The porch leads to a fully enclosed gazebo, a cozy place to be outside, yet protected from weather.

A rose bed is next to the porch, and then a small raised garden for herbs and a few vegetables. A sidewalk winds around the house and flower beds.

The sidewalk continues around the house past a screen porch, part of the Nightingale Suite guest room.
Venturing off the sidewalk and walking across the lawn leads to more of nature's surprises, like the tiger lilies under the fantail pussy willow above. There are many quiet places to just be still and soak in the silence.

INSIDE


The house itself has four private GUEST ROOMS, each with a private bath. (See the Rooms and Rates page for descriptions of each guest room.)

The SUN ROOM is a favorite gathering space inside the house. It can comfortably accommodate a dozen people. This is also the only room that has a TV-DVD player combination. For those who wish to escape the distractions of TV while at Whispering Winds, the TV is hidden away in a cabinet. A small library is also available in the Sun Room.
On cloudy or wintry days, the LIVING ROOM, with its gas fireplace, is often the preferred gathering space. It is also large enough to accommodate up to a dozen people.

The PRAYER ROOM, located off the living room, is often used for spiritual direction sessions. It can also be used privately by individuals.

Upstairs, the RAINBOW ROOM is a small sitting room, another place to read, meditate, or visit with a few people.

MEALS


A CONTINENTAL PLUS BREAKFAST is served - fruit, yogurt, bagels, cereal and baked goods, along with juice, milk, coffee and tea.

As a Bed and Breakfast, Whispering Winds Retreat Haven is permitted to prepare breakfast for its guests, but not other meals. Guests may bring their own food, or go out to eat. A small refrigerator and microwave are available in the dining room for guest use. Cambridge and other neighboring communities offer a variety of dining options ranging from fast food to gourmet restaurants.
