What time is Check-in? Check-out?

OVERNIGHT GUESTS:
The standard check-in time is from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The standard check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

DAYTIME GETAWAYS:
The standard check-in time is 9:00 a.m.
The standard check-out time is 4:00 p.m.

Check-in and check-out times for both overnight guests
and daytime getaways are very flexible.
If an earlier or later check-in or check-out time is desired,
please ask while making reservations, if possible.
We will be happy to accommodate your preferred check-in
and check-out times if we can.


Do you take credit cards?

Yes. We accept Visa, Master Card, and Discover credit cards.


Is a deposit required? When is payment due?

The full amount of the reservation is charged automatically to your credit card at the time the reservation is made. If you prefer to pay by cash or check when you arrive, please call to make your reservation. A credit card will still be required to hold the reservation, but the charge will not be automatically processed.


If I must cancel my reservation, will the charges be refunded?

If your plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 7 days prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation for a full refund, less a $25 processing fee. If you must cancel with less than 7 days notice, or if you must shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. If we can rebook your room(s), a full or partial refund will be made.

A 30-day cancellation notice is required on whole house bookings (Group Gatherings) and for some holidays and special events.


Is wireless Internet access available to guests?

We offer limited Internet access at this time. If you need access for email or to check out something on the Internet, let us know, and we will turn on Wi-Fi through a battery-operated wireless tablet that serves as a wireless router and supports up to 5 users at a time. If more constant Internet access is needed while you are at Whispering Winds, you may want to get a cup of coffee at the Daily Grind coffee shop in Cambridge, which offers free Wi-Fi.

Is TV available to guests?

Yes. One TV is available in the Sun Room. Twelve broadcast channels are available, but there is no cable nor satellite service. This TV also has a built-in DVD player which may be used by individuals, or for group presentations.


Do you allow pets?

No. Unfortunately, in order to accommodate the needs of people who have allergies, we must have a policy of no pets.


Are children welcome as guests?

Yes. Children over the age of 12 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult guest at all times.

Are you a smoke-free environment?

Yes. No smoking is allowed - inside or outside.


Do you provide meals?

We provide a generous continental breakfast that includes fruit, cereal, bagels, baked goods, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. Guests are welcome to bring their own food for other meals. A small refrigerator, microwave, and toaster are available in the dining room for guest use. For public retreats, "catered meals" are provided. For group gatherings, you can bring your own food, have meals catered, or go to nearby restaurants. Call 608-212-6197 to discuss your options in more detail.


Is Whispering Winds affiliated with any religious organization?

No. Whispering Winds is a completely independent organization. Anyone who is looking for some quiet, reflective time is a welcome guest. The owners of Whispering Winds share a Christian heritage (Lutheran) and for that reason many of the symbols displayed at Whispering Winds are Christian. Individuals and groups from all faith traditions are welcome.


Is Whispering Winds a non-profit organization?

No. Whispering Winds Retreat Haven is a part of Korth-Jacobson, LLC. The other business of Korth-Jacobson, LLC at this time is Country Comforts Assisted Living.


Is Whispering Winds licensed?

Yes. Whispering Winds is licensed as a bed and breakfast. We are inspected annually by the state of Wisconsin to ensure that we comply with all codes related to cleanliness and safety. We are a comfortably remodeled farmhouse, and we position ourselves as a peaceful getaway.
